Structured data
Structured data is information organized into a consistent, predictable format, like fields in a table, instead of free-form text or an image.
Structured data is information organized into a consistent, predictable format, like fields in a table, instead of free-form text or an image. In e-commerce data, structured data is the output a scraper produces after reading an unstructured web page: it turns a product page's layout into a row with named fields, such as sku, price and in_stock. This is what makes the data usable in a spreadsheet, database or pricing engine without someone manually reading each page. Some stores also publish structured data themselves, as schema.org markup embedded in the page, which can make extraction more reliable when it's present and accurate, though it isn't always complete or current.
