Stock availability
Stock availability is whether a product is currently purchasable on a store's page, typically captured as in stock, out of stock, or a limited-quantity state.
Stock availability is whether a product is currently purchasable on a store's page, typically captured as in stock, out of stock, or a limited-quantity state. It matters in e-commerce data because stock status changes fast and often predicts a pricing move: a store running low on stock may raise its price, while a competitor who just sold out creates an opening for everyone else. Stock data is usually collected alongside price on the same schedule, since the two are read from the same page in the same pass. Some stores show exact quantities; most only show a binary or threshold state, which is what most availability feeds record.
